The Wolf is an early companion in Ghost of Yotei, and someone Atsu met on her first night in Ezo. The two continue to run into each other throughout the journey, but the bond goes deeper than mere survival and desire for fish. The Wolf can become a protector and a useful fighter for Atsu to wield in combat, but summoning the Wolf isn’t as simple as swinging your sword or whistling for your horse. Below, you can find out how to summon the Wolf in Ghost of Yotei, and how to upgrade her.
How to Summon the Wolf in Ghost of Yotei
To start, head to the Settings and select Gameplay. Ensure that “Wolf Appearances” is set to On; otherwise, the Wolf will not appear. At the start of Ghost of Yotei, the Wolf will only appear at random, and has a small chance to appear when Atsu is downed in combat to rescue her from death, like a free revive. While spawning the Wolf is completely random, there is a way to get teh Wolf in Ghost of Yotei easier. Players will need to learn the Song of the Wolf for their Shamisen, as playing Song of the Wolf before a combat encounter will summon the Wolf as a companion. Players can learn the song after completing 4 Wolf Dens, and then play the song by swiping Left on the Touch Pad. Completing Wolf Dens will further tighten the bond between Atsu and the Wolf, and after 5 Wolf Dens, you can name her.
How to Upgrade the Wolf in Ghost of Yotei
All Wolf Upgrades in Ghost of Yotei
The Wolf has her own set of skills that can be upgraded, but to do so, players will need to find Wolf Dens. Wolf Dens can be found just by exploring and following the golden birds that appear, or through the purchase of maps from the Cartographer found in villages and inns.
